You will be responsible for the creation of the yearbook and writing the articles for the Pirate Press newsletter.

Students who wish to participate will go through the same type of “tryouts” that students who wish to participate in a sport such as Basketball, Volleyball, Cheer, or the Dance team.

Applicants must possess the following attributes in order to qualify for the second round of the application process:

1.     You are currently in the 7th grade (6th graders read the bottom).

3.     Must have at least a B in all your classes this year (preferably A’s).
4.     Little to no absence’s throughout this year.

6.     Must be a “perfectionist” when it comes to assignments.

13.   Must get good recommendations from your teachers.
14.   Must work well with Mr. Larson and those who are part of next year’s Publications staff.

Due to our Yearbook deadlines, those who go to Mexico before or after Christmas vacation, those who participate in the Minico Play (see Mr. Larson for more information on the play), and those that plan extended vacations in January or March CANNOT apply.

Students must also show that they have the creative skills necessary to create next year’s yearbook.  Students who created nice restaurant menus\store posters, like to scrapbook, decorate things, draw, paint, or do other crafts will score well on the application process.

Any student who feels they meet these criteria may sign up in Mr. Larson’s classroom by the end of the day on (not available yet) in order to be considered for next year’s staff.

Thank you!  Mr. Larson

*6th Graders may apply, IF you were in Mr. Larson’s computer class 1st or 2nd trimester, AND turned in a restaurant menu, AND have good writing skills.  There may only be 0 to 6 openings!
